As the temperature drops and the leaves change colors, we find ourselves quickly approaching cough and cold season. While it is impossible to avoid all germs, we can take some important steps to keep our bodies healthy this year!
- Keep your body hydrated by drinking plenty of water and decaffeinated, low sugar beverages such as herbal tea. This is important for flushing toxins from your body.
- Incorporate aerobic exercise such as walking ? an active body is a healthy body!
- Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables which contain phytonutrients and important vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin C for your immune system.
- Avoid eating processed foods high in sugar which may suppress your body's immunity.
- Get proper sleep to ensure that your body is ready to fight infection!
- Avoid chronic stress which may decrease your body's ability to fight infection. Take part in activities and hobbies that help you feel relaxed and practice stress reduction techniques such as deep breathing.
- And of course continue to wash your hands!
